TL;DR
Junior Data Scientist (Fintech) (Python/SQL/Machine Learning): Building, integrating, and maintaining machine learning models and data analyses for a B2B fintech platform with an accent on business problem-solving, data availability, and informative visualizations. Focus on collaborating with data engineering, implementing solutions in AWS and Databricks, and documenting models and analytical work.
Location: Hybrid roles based in Bogotá, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico; or São Paulo, Brazil. Hybrid work combines office, customer-facing, and home-based work; office presence is expected organically and may be required during ramp-up or at the leader’s discretion.

What you will do
- Build, integrate, and maintain machine learning models in a development environment.
- Conduct data analysis to support business decisions and create informative visualizations for broad audiences.
- Identify data requirements and collaborate with data engineers to ensure data availability.
- Implement data science solutions aligned with company goals.
- Document analytical and modeling work for future reference and onboarding.
- Collaborate remotely with teams across the Americas.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a data scientist.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Git.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn or TensorFlow.
- Experience with object-oriented programming and understanding of data science best practices.
- Familiarity with AWS and Databricks.
- Good English level required.
Nice to have
- Experience with corporate bill pay, credit cards, or spend-management products.
- Experience with Metabase, QuickSight, or Databricks visualization capabilities.
- Proficiency in R for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests.
- Knowledge of financial-sector regulatory compliance in Latin America.
