Threat Research Engineer (Client Side) (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote in France; monthly visits to the Paris office are supported for fully remote employees.

What you will do

• Challenge bot detection mechanisms through internal red-team activities and build tools to automate testing.
• Analyze detection modules and customer website configurations to identify potential bypasses and misconfigurations.
• Add browser fingerprinting signals to client-side scripts to detect advanced bots.
• Improve the security and resilience of JavaScript code through obfuscation techniques that limit reverse engineering.
• Collaborate with the mobile team to collect new SDK signals and improve mobile bot detection.
• Research and communicate new bot-detection approaches through meetups, conference talks, academic papers, and blog posts.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience programming in JavaScript.
• Strong computer science background.
• Experience working with bots or malware.
• Strong knowledge of web and network infrastructure and client-side technologies.
• Strong communication skills and a hacker mindset.
• Ability to work remotely from France.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a cybersecurity company.
• WebAssembly experience.
• Compiler experience.
