TL;DR
PCB Design Engineer (Altium/Power Electronics): Designing and validating multilayer PCBs for high-voltage, high-current power conversion systems with an accent on signal integrity, power integrity, thermal management, and safety compliance. Focus on optimizing layouts for dynamic loads, developing manufacturing documentation, supporting prototype bring-up and debugging, and maintaining centralized Altium libraries.

What you will do

  • Design and lay out multilayer PCBs in Altium Designer for high-voltage, high-current applications exceeding 50A and power converters.
  • Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis, including impedance control, decoupling, grounding, return paths, and PDN design.
  • Optimize component placement, routing, thermal management, and enclosure integration with electrical and mechanical engineers.
  • Prepare Gerber/ODB++ files, BOMs, assembly drawings, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Validate designs through DRC/ERC checks and IPC, UL, and IEC safety standards; support prototype builds, bring-up, and debugging.
  • Maintain the central Altium library, create components from datasheets, and define rules and templates for new library components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 7+ years of PCB design experience with strong hands-on expertise in Altium Designer.
  • Experience designing high-voltage PCBs above 1500V and high-current PCBs above 50A, including thermal and mechanical considerations, for designs up to 8 or more layers.
  • Experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal PCB design, PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, DFM/DFA, and production manufacturing constraints.
  • Knowledge of thermal management, creepage and clearance, insulation coordination, controlled impedance, EMI/EMC mitigation, and safety compliance.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, and component datasheets, with strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with power conversion systems, motor drives, industrial controls, renewable energy, or similar applications.
  • Experience with medium- and high-speed digital interfaces or advanced PCB technologies such as rigid-flex, HDI, heavy copper, and specialized stack-ups.
  • Familiarity with SI/PI tools including Altium PDN Analyzer, HyperLynx, Sigrity, or ANSYS SIwave.
  • Experience with Altium 365 and PLM/PDM environments.
  • Knowledge of IPC, UL, and IEC standards for PCB design and power electronics products.
