Technical Business Analyst (Finance)

What you will do

• Analyze business processes, identify technical needs and gaps, and define project scope.
• Design end-to-end technology solutions, evaluate implementation options, and provide recommendations.
• Drive product design in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
• Create and maintain accurate product, project, and requirements specifications.
• Manage functional and technical knowledge, resolve open questions, and monitor project milestones.
• Coordinate multiple priorities and communicate progress across senior stakeholders, trading, quantitative research, development, QA, production support, and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of total industry experience in finance, including at least 2 years as a Technical Business Analyst.
• Hands-on programming experience, preferably with Python or KDB+/q.
• Expertise in Atlassian Confluence and JIRA, including macros and plug-ins.
• Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Understanding of software and hardware concepts, software architecture design, and Waterfall or Agile software development lifecycles.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field, with knowledge of listed or OTC financial instruments such as equities, futures, options, or fixed income.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices, domain-driven design, API design, cloud-native applications, distributed systems, or DevOps.
