Sr. Metrology & Automation Engineer (metrology and manufacturing automation): Developing and improving measurement technologies and automated equipment for characterizing CMP polymeric and poromeric pads with an accent on chemical, mechanical, dimensional, laser, and microscopy-based measurements. Focus on leading multifunctional technology projects, qualifying new systems, troubleshooting metrology issues, and sustaining measurement capability in high-volume manufacturing.
Location: Newark, Delaware, United States; onsite work in a manufacturing plant and laboratory environment

What you will do
- Lead multifunctional projects to scout, design, develop, and implement new and improved metrology technologies.
- Create strategies and launch metrology and equipment automation initiatives.
- Lead new technology qualification and change management with customers.
- Manage project execution with defined milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Partner with high-volume manufacturing teams to sustain metrology stability, capability, maintenance, parts, and spares.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for metrology and system issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in engineering, polymer science, materials science, or a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in metrology, automation, and manufacturing technology.
- Experience leading projects.
- Ability to work with chemicals, polymers, analytical and mechanical testing tools, moving mechanical parts, fume hoods, and loud equipment.
- Ability to work onsite throughout a manufacturing plant in Newark, Delaware, including varied temperatures and humidity.
- Commitment to safety and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment.
Nice to have
- Experience designing integrated units with fixturing and gantry systems for high-precision measurements.
- Knowledge of measurement, inspection, automated systems, and process control systems.
- Experience with analytical laboratories and chemical, mechanical, dimensional, or laser measurements.
- Six Sigma project leader certification and knowledge of SPC principles.
- Experience with statistical software such as JMP or Minitab.
