Product Auditor (Fintech)

What you will do

• Maintain a risk-based Product Audit Universe and annual audit plan covering payment products, features, and integrations.
• Review product requirements, business rules, transaction workflows, and architecture to identify control gaps before production release.
• Perform continuous audits of live products, analysing transaction data, configuration drift, exception handling, and emerging risk patterns.
• Audit fee engines, commissions, VAT, discounts, split payments, duplicate prevention, reversals, refunds, chargebacks, settlement flows, and ledger synchronisation using SQL.
• Assess product changes, master data integrity, vendor-managed components, third-party API behaviour, and settlement dependencies.
• Lead incident reviews, prepare risk-rated reports for executive management and the Audit Committee, and track corrective actions to closure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 3–5+ years of experience in Product Audit, Systems Audit, Financial Data Analytics, or Payment Operations within fintech or financial services.
• Advanced SQL and experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MSSQL; strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Hands-on knowledge of payment architecture, wallets, card processing, direct debit, settlement, reconciliation, and the end-to-end transaction lifecycle.
• Knowledge of risk-based audit methodology, IIA Standards, COSO, control design, root cause analysis, CBN regulations, PCI DSS, NDPR, and Nigerian consumer protection obligations.
• Professional scepticism, independence, stakeholder engagement, and risk-rated report-writing skills.

Nice to have

• CISA, CIA, or CFE certification.
• ACA or ACCA combined with strong technical product and data analytics experience.
• Experience with Claude or other AI tools.
