Senior ML Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, anywhere in Europe

Salary: €58,100–€91,300 per year, including base, variable compensation, and equity; the range is adjusted according to the European country of hire and local market conditions.

What you will do

• Own machine learning projects from exploration through production deployment and ongoing iteration.
• Design reliable agentic LLM systems using multi-step workflows, tool calling, retrieval, and orchestration for clinical settings.
• Build evaluation datasets, offline and online evaluation harnesses, LLM-as-judge pipelines with human review, and regression tests.
• Improve model quality through prompting, retrieval, distillation, or fine-tuning based on evidence.
• Work across data preparation, model adaptation, serving, monitoring, and production feedback loops.
• Partner with Product, Clinical, and Engineering stakeholders while reviewing code and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Experience shipping production machine learning systems used by real users.
• Hands-on production experience with LLM prompting, retrieval, tool calling, and agent-style workflows.
• Experience building evaluation datasets and frameworks and distinguishing genuine improvements from noise.
• Strong machine learning fundamentals and the ability to reason about technical tradeoffs.
• Solid engineering skills, including production-quality code, distributed systems, and debugging complex ML pipelines.
• Clear communication with technical and clinical stakeholders; every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1 AI proficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience with fine-tuning or preference optimization such as RLHF or DPO.
• Healthcare AI or experience in other high-stakes domains.
• Experience building agent frameworks or evaluation tooling from scratch.
• Open-source contributions, technical writing, or other knowledge-sharing experience.
