Senior ML Science Manager (AI)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office. The ML science team is distributed across offices in Dublin, London, and Berlin.

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 10+ ML scientists.
• Collaborate with ML, engineering, product, and design leaders to shape team priorities and product impact.
• Enable high productivity, performance, and reliability across the team.
• Provide technical guidance and stay close to individual contributor work, including occasional code reviews or pull requests.
• Expand the team and promote its work internally and externally through recruitment and events.

Requirements

• Experience leading, developing, and supporting ML teams that deliver impact quickly.
• At least five years of individual contribution experience in ML, AI, NLP, or a data-related field.
• Excellent applied machine learning and coding skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment with substantial autonomy.
• Strong communication skills across technical teams and disciplines.
• MSc or PhD in an ML-related field, or equivalent knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping ML products for end users.
• Research environment experience and expertise in areas such as NLP, deep learning, Bayesian methods, reinforcement learning, or clustering.
• Data skills including visualization and SQL.
• Deep knowledge of software engineering practices.
• Experience recruiting ML scientists as a hiring manager.
