Frontend Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, with in-office collaboration Monday–Wednesday in Palo Alto, California

What you will do

• Design and build features that let users engage with their paychecks through different financial methods.
• Improve the UX for submitting financial information and managing monetary accounts associated with employment.
• Build integrations with third-party payment vendors.
• Improve invoice experiences with rich, robust data and insights.
• Establish frontend best practices for the invoice and payments domain through reusable code, documentation, and repeatable practices.
• Provide frontend expertise within a primarily backend- and fullstack-focused engineering team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional frontend or UX software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year building frontends and API frameworks for invoicing or financial systems, or at least 2 years building frontends for domains with complex forms and dashboards.
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript, plus a solid understanding of frontend integration with backend services and APIs.
• Expertise in frontend design patterns, frameworks, and establishing best practices in an existing frontend system.
• Experience translating wireframes and mockups into reusable, scalable, and intuitive frontend code in collaboration with designers and product managers.
• Comfort working across the full stack, including AWS, PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, and Kubernetes; approximately 80–90% of the work is frontend and API development.
