TL;DR
AI Robotics Engineer (Physical AI) (Robotics/NeuraGym): Developing cognitive robotics applications and production-ready robotic intelligence through teleoperation, data annotation, model training, simulation, deployment, and validation with an accent on vision-based manipulation, reinforcement and imitation learning, and multimodal models. Focus on optimizing real robot systems, troubleshooting training pipelines, and translating customer and field insights into AI product and research improvements.

Location: On-site in Metzingen / Riederich, Germany

What you will do

  • Drive the development of cognitive robotics applications through Physical AI and the NeuraGym platform.
  • Execute the full NeuraGym pipeline, including teleoperation, data annotation, training, simulation, deployment, and validation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, build, and optimize AI-powered robotic systems.
  • Advise NeuraGym users on project feasibility, algorithm selection, data collection, and training strategies.
  • Onboard and support users by reviewing pipelines, identifying data quality issues, troubleshooting model behavior, and resolving technical blockers.
  • Connect Cloud and AI teams and translate field experience into feedback for the NeuraGym and Neura AI roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on machine-learning experience in robotics.
  • Strong expertise in at least one of vision-based manipulation, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or multimodal models, with willingness to learn the others.
  • Strong Python skills and practical experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow; C++ is an advantage.
  • Experience working directly with real robot hardware and associated middleware.
  • Good command of English and German at B2–C1 level.

Nice to have

  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with robotic simulation tools such as IsaacSim or MuJoCo.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with researchers, engineers, and end users.
