Senior Camera Image Quality Engineer (Optics)

What you will do

• Define image quality requirements and implement testing for lens components and complete camera systems in laboratory and manufacturing environments.
• Review compact, high-quality, wide-field-of-view lens designs and drive vendor development.
• Develop end-to-end imaging system models from scene capture through content display and document lens and system-level specifications.
• Tune ISP and imaging pipelines for optimal image quality.
• Collaborate with the algorithms team on calibration strategies for the image processing pipeline.
• Analyze failure modes and troubleshoot image aberrations and artifacts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an imaging systems role.
• High proficiency in data analysis and image processing using Matlab or an equivalent tool.
• Proficiency with lens design tools such as Zemax and FRED.
• Strong understanding of ISP pipelines, auto-exposure, auto-white-balance algorithms, and image quality metrics.
• Strong background in optics, image sensor technologies, and optoelectronics manufacturing processes.
• BS/MS degree in electrical engineering, optics, or an equivalent field, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
