What you will do

  • Own the mechanical architecture of lightweight quadcopter platforms from CAD concept through production release.
  • Design fuselages, chassis, motor mounts, quick-release mechanisms, and other airframe assemblies in SolidWorks.
  • Package PCBs, wire harnesses, power distribution, motors, and sensors into custom airframe volumes.
  • Build functional prototypes and perform vibration, modal, thermal, drop, and flight-test validation.
  • Run structural, modal, thermal, and tolerance stack-up analyses for demanding defense environments.
  • Optimize parts for injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing, while supporting assembly processes and production tooling.

Requirements

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on UAV design and development experience with physical drone airframes, multirotors, or flight hardware, or 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or dense electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience taking electromechanical assemblies from CAD concepts through prototypes to production hardware.
  • Practical design-for-manufacturing experience with plastic injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing.
  • Ability to solve structural rigidity, heat dissipation, vibration isolation, and other real-world physical constraints.
  • Proactive, hands-on, collaborative approach with strong ownership under tight deadlines.
