Senior Fullstack Engineer (React/Java)

Location: Kaunas Office, Lithuania; hybrid work

Salary: €3,330–€6,660 gross per month, plus yearly bonuses of approximately 10% of annual salary and a $20,000 gross Booking Holdings RSU package.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features used by millions of travelers.
• Build dynamic landing pages and supporting services that personalize content based on search intent and keywords.
• Develop APIs, backend services, and integrations supporting reliable user journeys and marketing experiences.
• Translate product and marketing requirements into scalable technical solutions and make architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, marketing specialists, and engineers to deliver integrated experiences.
• Write automated tests, troubleshoot production issues, improve performance and reliability, and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building and maintaining web applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Redux, CSS, Sass or Less, Java, and Spring.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL, SQL, web application architecture, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience writing automated unit and end-to-end tests, debugging production systems, and solving complex technical problems.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; hybrid work from the Kaunas office.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Git, Tomcat, Apache, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience operating high-traffic consumer-facing web applications.
• Experience with observability, performance optimization, mentoring, or leading technical initiatives without formal people management.
