Data Platform DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Remote from Hungary, Debrecen; candidates must currently be based in Hungary and have the legal right to live and work there.

What you will do

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data pipeline deployments using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD.
• Build and manage Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and Helm for enterprise data lakehouse components.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters running Airflow, Spark operators, DataHub, and other orchestration workloads.
• Implement observability through logging, metrics, and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Honeycomb, ELK, or Datadog.
• Automate development, staging, and production environment provisioning while improving reliability, scalability, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Develop operational runbooks and on-call playbooks, collaborate with data engineering and security teams, and support SLA compliance through capacity planning and incident response.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and container orchestration, including EKS, AKS, or GKE, Docker, and microservices deployment patterns.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Go for automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Databricks Terraform provider or Snowflake deployment automation.
• Knowledge of GitOps workflows with ArgoCD or Flux.
• CKA, AWS DevOps Professional, or HashiCorp Terraform certification.
