Senior Routing ML Engineer (Geospatial): Building deep learning models, large-scale geospatial data pipelines, and low-latency production services for routing and travel time prediction with an accent on GPS data, traffic estimation, and map matching. Focus on designing ML experiments, deploying and monitoring production models, detecting concept drift, and optimizing serving latency.

What you will do
- Design and build machine learning models for routing and travel time prediction.
- Develop traffic estimation models using large-scale GPS data and implement map-matching solutions for noisy GPS traces.
- Improve travel time calculation, smoothing, and rerouting logic.
- Translate routing objectives into machine learning objectives, evaluation metrics, and non-functional requirements.
- Lead offline and online model evaluation and collaborate with backend engineers on low-latency production deployment.
- Own the production ML lifecycle, including serving, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining pipelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of machine learning engineering experience building and deploying deep learning models in production.
- Experience with regression, forecasting, or other supervised machine learning systems for production prediction tasks.
- Expert Python skills with PySpark, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and gradient-boosting libraries such as XGBoost, LightGBM, or CatBoost.
- Strong SQL skills and the ability to design ML systems from scratch, including data analysis and processing.
- Experience designing ML experiments, using MLOps tools, deploying models to production, optimizing latency, and managing concept drift.
- Experience with large-scale geospatial and behavioral datasets, including GPS traces and H3 spatial indexing; English at upper-intermediate level required.
Nice to have
- Academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with travel time prediction, traffic estimation, routing quality, or open-source routing engines.
- Knowledge of map matching, speed profiles, road graph tiles, and historical traffic.
- Experience with mapping, location, or geospatial products and cloud data or machine learning platforms.
- Experience building products for developing markets.
