Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure)

Location: 100% remote; work anywhere, including while travelling or living as a digital nomad

What you will do

• Own and evolve Microsoft Azure infrastructure with Terraform, including networking, compute, managed services, and secrets.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and Helm deployments for a distributed microservices platform.
• Build and operate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Define observability for metrics, logging, alerting, and tracing, and lead incident response and postmortem-driven reliability improvements.
• Manage PostgreSQL infrastructure, including backups, replication, failover, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Improve developer workflows through tooling, automation, local development environments, deployment processes, and infrastructure security.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps, Platform Engineering, or comparable infrastructure experience.
• Upper-intermediate to fluent spoken and written English with the ability to communicate in real time.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including AKS, Azure AD, managed databases, blob storage, and networking.
• Strong experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and infrastructure as code at scale.
• Experience operating CI/CD pipelines and PostgreSQL environments, including migrations and performance tuning.
• Experience with observability, incident response, secrets management, and reliability engineering in evolving systems.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting large-scale legacy application migrations, especially from .NET and Microsoft SQL Server to cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with gRPC, distributed microservices, Next.js, or modern web platforms.
• Experience building platform engineering and developer productivity tooling.
• Experience establishing DevOps standards in greenfield infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and engineering workflows.
