QA Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, document, and execute functional and exploratory test cases for API- and SDK-based product flows.
• Own regression testing, release-readiness support, and quality sign-off for assigned product areas.
• Translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios with product managers, developers, and SDETs.
• Perform UAT and help standardize the process across product and engineering.
• Log, triage, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, and expected-versus-actual results.
• Identify automation gaps and contribute to ad hoc automated testing and automation tech-debt reduction.

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA or test engineering experience, preferably in fintech, payments, or another regulated API-driven environment.
• Strong knowledge of QA processes across the SDLC, including test planning, test data setup, execution, defect management, and release sign-off.
• Experience testing REST/JSON APIs with tools such as Postman or cURL and writing BDD-style scenarios with Gherkin, Cucumber, or similar.
• Ability to maintain automated tests with Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools and proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or another automation language.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Git-based workflows, Jira, Confluence, and test management or UAT tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
• Clear written communication and the ability to collaborate across time zones in a fast-paced, distributed engineering environment.

Nice to have

• Experience testing ledgers, settlement, reconciliation, payments, or other financial transaction flows.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing within them.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
