Site Reliability and Security Operations Engineer

Location: Remote, based in the United States; occasional travel to Core Speech Operations offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Travel: 5%–10%. Relocation assistance may be authorized. New hires may need to attend on-site onboarding at a designated company location.

Salary: $106,000–$145,750 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Secure and harden Core Speech products through patching, application coding, and automated security-patching processes.
• Deploy, implement, and maintain production systems.
• Monitor product performance, maintain reporting, and perform capacity planning.
• Implement and maintain operational alerting systems.
• Participate in an off-hours site reliability rotation and respond to alerts.
• Collaborate on projects and independently improve system performance and architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of equivalent experience in operations support and/or application development, or a high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and logical, methodical, efficient problem-solving skills.
• Experience with operations support and/or application development.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Availability for occasional travel and off-hours site reliability support.

Nice to have

• Python, Jython, shell, Java, or Go.
• Git, GitHub, GitLab, SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or AWS DocumentDB.
• CI/CD and build systems, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform.
• AWS services including EC2, EFS, EKS, S3, RDS, or CloudFront.
• Monitoring, logging, and message-streaming tools such as Grafana, Redis, Solr, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana, or Filebeat.
