Tech QA Lead (Game Development)

Location: Warsaw, Poland. Office-first role based primarily at the Warsaw studio, available in full-time onsite or hybrid mode. Relocation to Poland is required.

Salary: 23,900–32,800 PLN gross monthly. The role may also include a long-term incentive program with an option to purchase company stock after the vesting period.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Technical QA team while establishing accountability, role clarity, and skill growth.
• Translate the Polaris QA strategy into practical testing approaches, team priorities, measurable outcomes, and milestone verification plans.
• Monitor technical quality metrics, KPIs, bug trends, blockers, and project risks, creating mitigation plans and readiness reports.
• Coordinate with Production, Development, Tech, Shared Development Services, QA experts, other QA Leads, and external QA vendors.
• Improve QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, technical documentation, dashboards, reporting, and test management processes.
• Support complex technical investigations, issue analysis, performance profiling, crash debugging, and other hands-on testing activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience leading or managing Technical QA teams, including direct performance management and career development.
• At least 5 years of experience in game development and strong knowledge of testing methodologies, defect management, test planning, test coverage, and technical QA practices.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or an in-house engine and its editor tools, including Unreal Insights, engine profiling, crash debugging, or related technical analysis.
• Experience developing testing strategies for integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical feature validation.
• Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, ownership, accountability, and ability to work under pressure and changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience working on AAA titles.
• Programming or scripting experience with C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, or technical validation workflows.
• Interest in The Witcher universe and large-scale RPGs.
