Senior Software Engineer (Java) - Contract

Location: Fully remote, with occasional travel to headquarters in Málaga, Spain

hirify.global develops an iGaming platform with integrations for operators, aggregators, and external gaming partners.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Build integrations with iGaming operators, aggregators, and external partners through REST APIs, asynchronous communication, and event-driven services.
• Develop platform capabilities for player sessions, authentication, wallets, game launches, betting, settlement, and transaction reconciliation.
• Design for resilience using timeouts, retries, idempotency, observability, error handling, and graceful degradation.
• Build automated unit, component, API, and integration test coverage, including Playwright and TypeScript automation.
• Contribute to CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, production support, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Experience with distributed systems, scalability, resilience, concurrency, high availability, REST APIs, and external integrations.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, cloud platforms such as GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability.
• Strong practical experience with automated testing, testability, mocking, contract testing, test data management, TDD, BDD, and pair programming.
• Fluent business English and the ability to operate through a fully registered limited company are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in iGaming, online casino, sportsbook, gambling technology, or real-money transactional systems.
• Experience with gaming operators, aggregators, wallet platforms, or third-party gaming providers.
• Experience creating reusable AI tooling, workflows, or agents.
