Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Warsaw office, Poland; hybrid work with in-office presence 1 day per week

What you will do

• Design, build, and own Python backend services, APIs, document workflows, and data processing pipelines.
• Lead architecture for complex features, evaluate trade-offs, write and review design documents, and drive technical decisions.
• Build event-driven and asynchronous processing with streams, queues, scheduled jobs, and background task systems for high-volume EDI workflows.
• Contribute to React and TypeScript frontend development to deliver features end-to-end.
• Design and optimize relational databases, including schemas, indexes, queries, migrations, and partitioning for large production datasets.
• Improve reliability and observability through on-call participation, incident response, alert optimization, code review, pairing, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Deep Python backend experience with Django/DRF, FastAPI, or equivalent, including API design and testing.
• Strong relational database skills, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations.
• Experience with asynchronous and event-driven systems, message queues or streaming, and background task processing.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS, plus React and TypeScript or another modern component framework and willingness to work in React.
• Professional working proficiency in English and availability for a hybrid role in the Poland office; experience with on-call support, CI/CD, automated testing, Git, code review, and Agile/Scrum.

Nice to have

• Experience with analytics pipelines, CDC, data warehouses, or lakehouse platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• EDI standards or supply chain and B2B commerce experience.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability tools, search, and caching technologies.
• Formal mentoring or tech lead experience, open-source contributions, or technically deep side projects.
• Experience building LLM-powered features, agentic tooling, RAG pipelines, or MCP integrations in production.
