Backend Engineer (Go & Python)

Overview

This role involves ownership of Go-based backend services and leading migration to Python within the Lifecycle team managing customer touchpoints and self-service features.

What you will do

• Own multiple Go-based backend services and maintain them as the primary expert
• Lead migration from Go to Python including architecture and implementation
• Analyze, document, and design new Python services to improve functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize migration impact
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies for legacy and new systems
• Create detailed documentation and drive technical decisions

Requirements

• Backend development experience with distributed systems and microservices
• Strong Go programming skills
• Proficiency in Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Experience with Git and RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Excellent communication and ownership mindset

Nice to have

• Familiarity with backend security best practices
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with language migrations or large refactoring projects
