Associate Chief Medical Officer (Healthcare AI)

Location: United States; remote location type, with an onsite, fast-paced work environment also mentioned. East Coast-based candidates are preferred. Approximately 20%–40% travel to customer sites is required.

What you will do

• Provide clinical expertise for the design, development, and iteration of AI-driven healthcare products.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define requirements, features, and roadmaps.
• Validate the clinical relevance, accuracy, usability, safety, and quality of AI models and tools.
• Represent clinical expertise in client meetings, product demonstrations, and customer-site support.
• Align product development with clinical needs, regulatory standards, market requirements, and customer feedback.
• Mentor internal teams on medical trends, technologies, clinical challenges, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with active, unrestricted medical licensure.
• At least 5 years of clinical practice experience.
• Experience developing healthcare products, such as digital health, medical devices, or AI applications.
• Ability to translate clinical needs into product specifications.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and FDA guidelines.
• Exceptional communication skills for influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in a health tech or startup environment.

• Familiarity with AI/ML applications in healthcare.
