TL;DR
Lead GenAI Engineer (LLM) (AI/LLM): Building enterprise AI applications, agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, APIs, and data pipelines for State Farm contact centers with an accent on Amazon Bedrock, responsible AI, and cloud-native delivery. Focus on designing streaming and stateful agents, evaluating model behavior, implementing AI DevSecOps, and leading production-grade solutions in a regulated insurance environment.
Location: Hybrid; qualified candidates must live or relocate within a 180-mile radius of a hub in Bloomington, Illinois; Dunwoody, Georgia; Richardson, Texas; or Tempe, Arizona, with regular office attendance.
Salary: $81,000–$142,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do
- Architect and deploy LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, and RAG pipelines using AWS Bedrock and AgentCore.
- Build robust REST and FastAPI services that support AI orchestration and downstream consumers.
- Develop governed data and analytics pipelines that supply AI and machine learning systems.
- Implement streaming, stateful, tool-using agents with AgentCore Runtime, Gateway, Memory, and Code Interpreter.
- Apply prompt engineering, guardrails, model evaluation, observability, secure coding, and CI/CD practices for responsible AI delivery.
- Lead technical direction through documentation, code reviews, mentoring, and collaboration with non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building LLM applications, RAG pipelines, or agentic systems.
- Strong software engineering experience across design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise applications.
- Experience with cloud architecture, preferably AWS, Git, performance optimization, and production deployment.
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript for API and AI integration development.
- Experience or familiarity with prompt engineering, model evaluation, AI safety, guardrails, multi-agent orchestration, function calling, or MCP.
- Applicants must already be eligible to work lawfully in the United States; visa sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship, is not available.
Nice to have
- Background in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with cloud contact center applications and productionizing LLM or GenAI features.
- Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI frameworks, enterprise platforms, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
