Lead GenAI Engineer (LLM)

Location: Hybrid; qualified candidates must live or relocate within a 180-mile radius of Bloomington, Illinois; Dunwoody, Georgia; Richardson, Texas; or Tempe, Arizona, with regular office work.

Salary: $81,000–$142,000 per year, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Design and deploy LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, and RAG pipelines using AWS Bedrock and AgentCore.
• Build REST and FastAPI services, data and analytics pipelines, and enterprise integrations for AI and ML systems.
• Use AgentCore Runtime, Gateway, Memory, and Code Interpreter to deliver streaming, stateful, tool-using agents in production.
• Implement prompt engineering, guardrails, model evaluations, and responsible AI governance practices.
• Develop cloud-native AI web applications, including chat interfaces, dashboards, and automation tools.
• Integrate AI workloads into CI/CD, apply secure coding and observability practices, document solutions, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building LLM applications, RAG pipelines, or agentic systems.
• Strong software engineering experience across design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise applications.
• Experience with cloud architecture, preferably AWS, Git, performance optimization, and production deployment.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript for API and AI integration development.
• Experience with multi-agent orchestration, function calling, MCP, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and AI safety guardrails.
• Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship, is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with cloud contact-center applications and AI governance frameworks.
• Experience productionizing LLM or GenAI features in regulated environments.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
