Commercial Credit Associate - Dealer Commercial Services

What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial credit requests, material modifications, renewals, and restructurings from initial deal screening through approval and the life of the loan.
• Monitor existing commercial loan portfolios through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, early-warning indicators, and problem-loan management.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, appraisals, due diligence, industry research, and peer data.
• Prepare cash-flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, financial models, guarantor analyses, and risk ratings.
• Partner with relationship managers, attend client and prospect calls, and present credit analyses and recommendations during credit discussions or committee presentations.
• Ensure compliance with commercial credit policies, regulatory standards, internal controls, and audit requirements while escalating identified risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus at least 4 years of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, or financial statement analysis.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 4 years in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation or analysis, or another financial analysis function.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, credit metrics, financial ratios, trend analysis, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage priorities accurately, interact with customers, and lead transaction execution with a Commercial Credit Analyst.
• Familiarity with legal documents, structural elements, credit policies, risk controls, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
• Experience training junior or newly hired analysts.
