TL;DR
P&C Actuarial Analyst (Data Science): Developing actuarial recommendations and statistical models for property and casualty insurance with an accent on data analysis, actuarial research, and financial decision-making. Focus on solving complex actuarial problems, analyzing business data, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization.

Location: Hybrid in Bloomington, Illinois; Dunwoody, Georgia; Richardson, Texas; or Tempe, Arizona. Office attendance is required at least 2 days per week, increasing to 3 days in 2027.

Salary: Potential starting salary of $82,100 annually, reflecting one actuarial exam passed; compensation increases with additional passed exams. Potential yearly incentive pay is up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

  • Develop actuarial recommendations for leadership and implement changes supporting financial objectives.
  • Develop and apply statistical modeling techniques to solve business problems.
  • Conduct research and identify solutions to actuarial problems.
  • Analyze and prepare responses to actuarial questions and issues.
  • Collaborate with business partners across the organization on multifaceted problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree completed before the start date in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, information management, or another analytical field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25; a GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.
  • Experience with data and statistical analysis using Excel, SQL, R, and/or Python.
  • Prior actuarial internship or similar work experience.
  • Successful completion of at least one Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society exam; two or more exams are preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with an intention to earn the ACAS or FCAS designation.

  • Experience delivering multiple projects on time and with quality.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers, managers, and stakeholders to define project scope and deliver shared outcomes.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and develop recommendations aligned with department and enterprise goals.
