Senior Manager, Government & Regulatory Affairs (Insurance)

Location: Sacramento, California, United States; domestic travel, primarily in California

What you will do

• Build and maintain relationships with state legislators, executive agencies, industry organizations, trade associations, and other external stakeholders.
• Develop and execute legislative and regulatory engagement strategies supporting hirify.global’s business objectives.
• Monitor, review, and evaluate insurance regulatory and legislative proposals and communicate critical developments, trends, and risks.
• Develop policy positions, response strategies, draft language, and preparation materials for legislative and regulatory interactions.
• Build coalitions, coordinate external resources, manage outside firms and association memberships, and support political contribution strategies in assigned states.
• Represent hirify.global’s interests through domestic travel, primarily in California, and provide strategic advice to business stakeholders and senior management.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant government affairs experience, with knowledge of insurance regulation, regulatory law, or related public policy fields; property and casualty insurance experience is preferred and auto insurance knowledge is a plus.
• Proven success developing and implementing regulatory and legislative strategies.
• Deep knowledge of United States insurance regulatory systems, including state insurance departments and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex regulatory developments into actionable business strategies.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for different audiences.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, develop and lobby hirify.global’s positions, and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to balance independent legal judgment with teamwork and enterprise-wide policy development processes.
• Ability to articulate hirify.global’s positions persuasively to decision makers and industry leaders and advise business professionals on complex legislative and regulatory issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, identify matters requiring escalation, and contribute in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
