Senior Manager, Government & Regulatory Affairs (Insurance): Advancing GEICO’s state legislative and regulatory agenda through policymaker engagement, insurance regulation analysis, and government affairs strategy execution with an accent on U.S. insurance systems and stakeholder relationships. Focus on monitoring regulatory developments, building coalitions, developing policy positions, and representing GEICO in California and other assigned states.

Annual salary: $158,875–$248,050

What you will do
- Build and maintain relationships with state legislators, executive agency leaders, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement legislative and regulatory engagement strategies supporting ’s business objectives.
- Analyze insurance regulatory and legislative proposals and communicate emerging issues, risks, and business implications.
- Develop policy positions, strategic responses, draft language, and preparation materials for legislative and regulatory interactions.
- Build coalitions, coordinate external resources, and support political contribution strategies in assigned states.
- Represent ’s interests through domestic travel, primarily in California.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant government affairs experience.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. insurance regulatory systems, including state insurance departments and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
- Experience developing and executing regulatory and legislative strategies, preferably in property and casualty insurance.
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory developments into actionable business strategies and advise business stakeholders.
- Juris Doctor degree and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction are highly preferred, but a JD is not mandatory.
