Production Support Engineer (Google Cloud)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX or Southlake, TX

Salary: USD $48.08–$55.29 per hour, plus bonus or incentive opportunities

What you will do

• Maintain the operational health and production reliability of enterprise data platforms in Google Cloud.
• Monitor and support batch and streaming workloads, ETL processes, data pipelines, and analytics services.
• Diagnose complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive timely resolution.
• Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and operational resilience.
• Build automated and scalable support processes that improve data availability, integrity, and performance.
• Collaborate with data engineering, platform engineering, and business stakeholders on production readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–3+ years of experience in production support, operations, or reliability engineering within data analytics, data engineering, or data warehouse environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Airflow or equivalent tools.
• Experience supporting ETL or data pipeline workloads in production and using SQL for analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Python or scripting languages, job scheduling and orchestration tools, CI/CD workflows, monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution in a timely manner.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or regulated environments, including data governance and operational controls.
• Experience implementing automation and operational tooling to reduce manual intervention.
• Exposure to cloud observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering at scale.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and business teams.
