GIS DevOps Engineer

Location: Onsite in a SCIF 90% of the time or as needed, with after-hours support, in Herndon, VA; Westminster, CO; or St. Louis, MO. U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI poly are required.

Salary: $125,000–$140,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift clusters across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
• Implement infrastructure as code, platform automation, tooling, and self-service capabilities.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security; respond to incidents and optimize systems.
• Collaborate with development, security, operations, and SAFe Agile teams to improve reliability and platform usability.
• Maintain compliance with organizational security and governance standards.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly, or willingness to obtain a CI poly.
• At least two years of professional experience in technical support or a related technical role.
• Experience with DevSecOps, Kubernetes in production, Red Hat OpenShift, and container technologies such as Docker or CRI-O.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Experience deploying and maintaining open-source and custom applications.
• Technical degree or equivalent demonstrated experience, plus effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP; networking, security, and Linux administration.
• Kubernetes certifications, policy and security tools such as OPA or Kyverno, and hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
• Background in SRE, geospatial technologies, military or intelligence environments, or IC PED systems.
• CompTIA Security+ or a comparable certification.
