Mental Health Writers or Actors (Contract) (AI Safety)

Location: Remote, Seattle, Washington

Compensation: $30–$75 per hour, depending on licensure, education, and professional experience.

What you will do

• Design and role-play chat experiences with AI agents across clinical and emotional scenarios.
• Perform or simulate characters across different ages, backgrounds, severity levels, and emotional states in spoken or written formats.
• Write dialogue scripts, scenario outlines, and narrative prompts for mental-health edge-case testing.
• Analyze conversations to develop taxonomies, personas, behavioral patterns, and evaluation criteria.
• Translate clinical expertise into structured prompt patterns, quality-assurance protocols, and evaluation rubrics.
• Identify failure cases and risk signals while collaborating with engineering, research, and clinical teams.

Requirements

• Knowledge of crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.
• Demonstrated experience in creative writing, theatre, improv, acting, voice acting, or character-driven role-play.
• Strong understanding of mental-health ethics, professional boundaries, and responsible handling of sensitive data.
• Interest in NLP, AI, machine learning, safety evaluation, or speech-signal processing.
• Ability to work remotely using Slack, LLM tools, and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to work with ambiguity, iterate, communicate consistently, and incorporate constructive feedback.

Nice to have

• Clinical experience with severe pathology, crisis populations, vulnerable youth, or young adults.
• In-progress or completed clinical degree or independent licensure in clinical psychology, counseling, social work, psychiatry, or a related field.
• Experience with trust and safety, content moderation, policy development, AI/ML in healthcare, data classification, annotation, or qualitative analysis.
• Familiarity with Discord, Reddit, gaming communities, or narrative role-play environments.
