Salary: €3,204–€4,051 gross per month, increasing from the first to the fourth year based on a full-time contract.

What you will do
- Design and optimise a transcutaneous, needle-free vascular access port for hemodialysis.
- Develop and test biomaterials and surface coatings with a focus on hemocompatibility.
- Perform in vitro flow experiments investigating thrombogenicity and biofilm formation.
- Analyse, interpret, and publish research results in international scientific journals.
- Collaborate with and Leiden University Medical Center research groups on biomaterials, medical technology, vascular access, animal models, and clinical translation.
Requirements
- Completed MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Technology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Affinity with biomaterials, medical devices, and translational research.
- Interest in experimental research and data analysis.
- Good written and oral English communication skills are required.
- Critical and independent working attitude.
