What you will do
- Develop high-performance computing simulation tools for scientific machine learning and electromagnetic wave scattering problems.
- Build large-scale forward simulation frameworks for synthetic aperture radar imaging.
- Develop inverse reconstruction methods for ill-posed radar imaging problems.
- Apply numerical analysis, machine learning, and scientific computing to data-driven inverse problems.
- Collaborate with engineers, specialists, and researchers in signal processing, applied mathematics, and machine learning.
Requirements
- Be at the end of a Master’s program and ready to begin a 30 HP Master’s thesis; the project is suitable for 1–2 students.
- Strong foundation in computer science, machine learning, applied mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and/or JAX.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Security vetting is required; additional citizenship obligations may apply for positions requiring security clearance.
Nice to have
- GPU programming experience.
- Interest in scientific computing, applied physics or mathematics, and machine learning.
