Senior Architect Public Library and Resource Sharing (AI): Defining and evolving the long-term architecture of OCLC’s Resource Sharing platform with an accent on scalable cloud-native systems, APIs, distributed systems, security, and resilience. Focus on leading modernization initiatives, evaluating AI-assisted engineering practices, resolving architectural risks, and aligning technical direction across engineering and product teams.
Location: Dublin, Ohio / Hybrid, with three days per week on-site

What you will do
- Define and communicate a multi-year architectural roadmap for the Resource Sharing platform.
- Translate business and product strategy into scalable, secure, maintainable technical solutions.
- Lead modernization initiatives involving cloud-native architectures, APIs, distributed systems, and data platforms.
- Advise engineering leadership on system design, technology investments, architectural risks, and technical debt.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted software engineering and autonomous development workflows.
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders while driving architecture reviews, governance, and engineering effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8–10 years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience designing and evolving large-scale, distributed, cloud-based software systems.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, APIs, integration patterns, cloud platforms, and data technologies.
- Experience translating product strategy into technical architecture and implementation plans.
- Ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct authority and lead modernization efforts.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, mentoring, and technical leadership skills, including familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools.
