Software Engineer (TypeScript/Node.js)

Location: Prague, hybrid; working from the office at least 3 days a week

Storyous, part of fintech company hirify.global, provides a POS ecosystem for cafes and restaurants, including payments, menu and table management, inventory, access controls, and delivery integrations.

What you will do

• Deliver new software components, improvements, refactoring, and deprecation work for mission-critical POS microservices.
• Build and maintain APIs, databases, billing services, and integrations.
• Write clean, secure, testable code and develop tools that scale product effectiveness across the business.
• Improve observability through logging, metrics, debugging, and related engineering practices.
• Own medium-sized initiatives from technical refinement through release, including code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-technology teams working with PHP, Vue.js, and Android Kotlin, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional full-stack development experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, including error handling and caching.
• Experience with NoSQL and relational databases, especially MongoDB and MariaDB.
• Basic experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, or Heroku.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests, using Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Fluent written and spoken English required; willingness to work from the Prague office at least 3 days per week and participate in on-call rotations.
