Senior Platform / Infrastructure Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Not specified; the role supports a new China-based infrastructure region and requires China-resident data to remain in China.

hirify.global is hiring for a client with a mature Kubernetes platform that is being extended to China.

What you will do

• Provision infrastructure with a China-available cloud provider using infrastructure as code.
• Port Terraform modules and the Argo CD deployment pipeline to the selected provider.
• Build in-region distribution for container images, Helm repositories, and language package indexes.
• Configure reliable DNS, certificate issuance, ingress, observability, and alerting for the new region.
• Complete the registration and compliance steps required before serving traffic.
• Enforce China data residency by design.

Requirements

• Hands-on production experience is required and will be screened by the client.
• Production Kubernetes operations, including CNI and networking, ingress, RBAC, upgrades, PersistentVolumes, and CSI drivers.
• Experience provisioning and operating managed Kubernetes clusters and node pools as code.
• Understanding of provider-native load balancers, ingress controllers, storage CSI drivers, cluster DNS, and managed Kubernetes differences from upstream.
• Terraform module authoring and maintenance.
• Certificate and DNS management with cert-manager, Let's Encrypt, and DNS providers.

Nice to have

• Argo CD, GitOps workflows, and Helm chart authoring.
• Multi-tenant and multi-region platform design and operations.
• Experience with Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Azure China, or AWS China.
• Experience with ACK, TKE, CCE, China-cloud Terraform providers, and restricted-egress mirroring.
• Knowledge of PIPL, the Cybersecurity Law, MLPS, and cross-border data-transfer restrictions.
