Engineer IV - Java

What you will do

• Design features and organization-level systems, evaluate technical designs, and provide feedback through design and code reviews.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and implement clean, scalable solutions to complex problems.
• Identify performance issues, optimize systems, and support architecture, scaling, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, business stakeholders, program managers, and product managers to define technical solutions and deliver work.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, automation, monitoring, and observability.
• Implement and support cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, logging, metrics, and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience delivering quality software, ideally across the full stack.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming, with experience in Spring Boot and Docker.
• Experience with RESTful architecture, microservices, system design, architecture, scaling, and performance testing.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, regression, and load testing.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, cloud technologies—especially AWS—and databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cache-based low-latency systems, Kafka or SQS messaging, and operational tools such as New Relic and Splunk.
