Senior Software Engineer (Next.js / TypeScript / Mobile)

Location: Remote in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, or Uruguay; availability to work primarily during New York (Eastern Time) business hours

hirify.global connects remote professionals in Latin America with international companies. The client is an early-stage fashion marketplace based in New York that enables peer-to-peer rental and resale of South Asian formalwear.

What you will do

• Own and maintain the complete Next.js codebase and deliver full-stack product features.
• Lead the technical strategy and production delivery of mobile applications for iOS and Android.
• Build and improve marketplace workflows for rentals, payments, notifications, logistics, garment care, inventory condition tracking, and operations.
• Maintain and optimize PostgreSQL databases and backend services.
• Make architectural decisions, improve performance, establish testing strategies, and debug production systems.
• Work directly with the founder and UI/UX designer to translate business ideas and Figma designs into polished user experiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building modern web applications.
• Strong expertise in Next.js, React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript, with solid backend development experience.
• Previous experience in fashion retail, fashion technology, or fashion e-commerce.
• Strong PostgreSQL or relational database experience, including ownership of production systems and live databases.
• Experience developing and publishing mobile applications with React Native and Expo, Capacitor, or similar technologies, including releases to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Experience with software architecture, scalable application design, testing methodologies, product designers, founders, and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience building marketplace platforms.
• Experience with Stripe Connect, marketplace payments, escrow flows, manual capture, and off-session charging.
