Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Budapest, XI.; on-site Monday to Thursday and remote on Fridays

What you will do

• Integrate the latest AI models into customer-facing features and workflows at scale.
• Drive architectural decisions and set technical direction across the engineering team.
• Own features end-to-end, from design and feasibility analysis through production release.
• Design and build tools and frameworks for development, testing, deployment, management, and monitoring.
• Plan and scale distributed software and networking platforms using synchronous and asynchronous design patterns.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance while supporting the engineering manager with team-level technical decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in full-stack development, preferably with React and Python or a comparable language such as Java or NodeJS.
• Proven experience driving architectural decisions, technical direction, and end-to-end software delivery.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and proactively identifying system or product improvements.
• Solid knowledge of cloud computing, especially AWS, and experience maintaining and deploying software.
• Experience working in an agile development environment, preferably in a startup or dynamic technology company.
• Strong English and Hungarian communication skills required.
