Senior Backend Developer (Java)

Location: Hong Kong; remote work

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into reliable backend services with solid code and meaningful tests.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java and/or Python applications across the full lifecycle.
• Tune system performance and troubleshoot production incidents.
• Write and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and mentor junior developers.
• Promote engineering best practices and technical excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing Java and/or Python applications.
• Strong understanding of software design, architecture, and system integration.
• Knowledge of event processing, multithreading, enterprise integration patterns, and REST/web services.
• Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, MyBatis, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, and cloud-native deployment.
• Experience building high-availability, high-throughput, and low-latency systems.
• Fluent English is required for coordination with overseas partners and stakeholders. Practical experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot is also required.
