Data Warehouse Engineer (ClickHouse)

hirify.global is building Thrill.com, a crypto gaming venture focused on creating a global gaming brand and experiences for millions of users.

What you will do

• Tune ClickHouse queries for performance and efficiency.
• Administer ClickHouse settings, tables, and data structures as a database administrator.
• Create and maintain data models and dashboards in Looker.
• Implement and monitor data quality checks and validation processes.
• Maintain infrastructure across Kafka, Zookeeper, ClickHouse, and Kubernetes.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience tuning relational database queries and administering databases.
• Strong SQL skills, including window functions and analytical queries.
• Working knowledge of Kafka topics, partitions, offsets, and delivery guarantees.
• Experience with Linux CLI, shell scripting, Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data lifecycle management, Git, version control workflows, and backup and restore strategies for large datasets.
• English proficiency at least at B2 level.

Nice to have

• ClickHouse administration and advanced query tuning.
• Looker administration and LookML modeling.
• Data quality frameworks, Kafka Connect, and Zookeeper cluster administration.
• OLAP and data warehouse concepts, including staging, marts, star and snowflake schemas, and Kimball layering.
• Monitoring with Grafana, Prometheus, or similar tools, plus infrastructure migrations and end-to-end data pipeline experience.
