Software Engineer (Infrastructure/Data Engineering)

Location: Hybrid, with an expectation of working from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week

What you will do

• Maintain and enhance the backend platform supporting Apstra’s configuration, telemetry, and analytics pipelines.
• Own product packaging, upgrades, deployment orchestration, distributed querying, data merging, system calls, and IPC.
• Develop Python and C++ hybrid execution components, including C extensions for performance-critical workloads.
• Build data synchronization from on-premises Apstra environments to JCloud.
• Construct ETL pipelines to prepare, transform, and deliver telemetry data for cloud analytics consumers.
• Improve in-house time-series and graph databases through compression, distributed query execution, performance tuning, and feature development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 4–6 years of professional experience.
• Experience developing backend infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Ability to work with Python and C++ in performance-sensitive environments.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL flows, databases, and cloud connectivity.
• Availability to work in a hybrid arrangement, including approximately two days per week from an HPE office.
