Social Media Manager (Content Writing)

What you will do

• Write, edit, and adapt social media copy, campaign messaging, and short-form digital content.
• Translate complex program and policy topics into clear, accessible public-facing messages.
• Manage scheduling, publishing, community monitoring, and content calendars across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
• Coordinate approvals and publishing with internal and client stakeholders.
• Track reach, engagement, and content trends using platform analytics, Hootsuite, and Meltwater.
• Develop reports and recommendations, and collaborate with strategists, creative teams, media leads, and program managers to optimize integrated campaigns.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in social media management and content writing across major platforms.
• Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics clearly to different audiences.
• Experience with social media management and analytics tools.
• Familiarity with brand standards and Section 508 or other digital accessibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Advertising, marketing, or communications agency experience.
• Federal government or public sector communications experience.
