Superconducting Hardware Engineer (Fusion Power)

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of superconducting hardware from simulation and design through build, test, and integration
• Analyze magnetic fields and coupled effects using COMSOL and ANSYS
• Evaluate mechanical loading and failure modes in high-field superconducting environments
• Design, build, test, and iterate superconducting magnet systems for test stands and fusion machines
• Develop experimental plans and diagnostics to validate performance under realistic conditions
• Collaborate with plasma physicists and machine designers to optimize system-level outcomes

Requirements

• On-site work in Everett, WA
• Experience delivering functional superconducting systems deployed in real-world applications
• Strong background in electromagnetics, superconductivity, and multiphysics modeling
• Proficiency with COMSOL, ANSYS, or equivalent simulation tools
• Experience working across mechanical, electrical, and plasma physics domains
• Ability to independently drive complex technical projects from concept to execution
