Director of Experimental Science (Fusion)

Location: On-site in Everett, WA

Compensation: $289,000 – $315,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers focused on optimizing fusion plasma performance.
• Oversee experimental projects including E&M probes, plasma pre-ionization, and plasma-material interaction.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish organizational roadmaps, goals, and risk management strategies.
• Drive experimental deliverables to completion by coordinating with mechanical, electrical, R&D, and production teams.
• Provide concise summaries of experimental results to stakeholders to inform strategic adjustments.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in physics or a related physical science discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of scientific research experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing a team of scientists or engineers in a research or technology setting.
• Demonstrated experience building and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven experience managing complex inter-departmental projects and hardware design.
