Lead Developer, Tools (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Montréal, Quebec, Canada

What you will do

• Lead a team of developers building products and tools across game engines, pipelines, DCC, and web technologies.
• Partner with directors and product managers to identify and solve complex pipeline inefficiencies with innovative, often AI-enabled solutions.
• Collaborate with studio partners on technical requirements for build systems and deployment tools.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and technical decomposition of complex initiatives.
• Maintain and improve pipeline software while ensuring high-quality documentation and support.
• Establish code review standards and professional development initiatives for the team.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with data systems, development tools, AI integrations, pipeline automation, custom applications, game engines, DevOps/DevEx, or web tools.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor an engineering team.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including C#, Python, JavaScript, and C++.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems, web frameworks, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and modern architectural design patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, plus strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Django, or Node.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Unreal or Unity.
• Experience building automated testing frameworks or data visualization tools.
