Senior Staff Production Engineering Lead

Location: Hybrid role based in San Ramon, CA; Reno, NV; or New York, NY. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $235,000–$295,000 annual cash compensation, plus stock plan participation.

What you will do

• Define progressive delivery, rollout, release, and operational readiness standards across engineering.
• Improve deployment safety, change reliability, verification, rollback patterns, and deployment confidence.
• Establish release operating principles and risk models for production changes.
• Rationalize feature flag and data deployment practices.
• Partner with SRE, Engineering Operations, and product engineering teams to evolve release tooling and automation.
• Coach teams, analyze deployment failures, and drive systemic operational improvements.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Production Engineering, SRE, Platform Engineering, or related disciplines, including organization-wide operational excellence leadership.
• Deep expertise operating and scaling distributed systems in cloud-native environments.
• Strong understanding of software delivery, production change management, and progressive delivery.
• Experience with canary, blue-green, and rolling deployment strategies.
• Strong programming and automation skills with Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Expertise with Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, observability platforms, technical leadership, and cross-team collaboration.
