What you will do
- Plan and run materials test campaigns on various materials
- Lead failure investigations on structural and polymer-based insulation systems and related components
- Develop and follow lab procedures and checklists for test areas
- Provide materials input to design processes
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate regularly
- Support and mentor lab technologists on test methods and setups
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years experience in failure analysis of materials or components, including electrical insulation systems
- Experience with materials characterization and failure analysis tools such as optical and SEM microscopy, mechanical and dielectric testing, polymer characterization
- Experience working in lab environments with custom or nonstandard setups, including fixture assembly and test scripting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration
- Process-oriented approach to lab work with consistent documentation and safety adherence
