Staff Software Engineer (Linux Networking)

Salary: Up to $185,000–$224,000 per year plus bonus; Restricted Stock Units included

What you will do

• Develop and execute hirify.global Cloud's Software Defined Networking strategy and roadmap.
• Lead architecture decisions, design reviews, code reviews, implementation, and software lifecycle execution.
• Design, develop, and support Linux kernel and driver components focused on system architecture and optimization.
• Drive adoption of XDP/EBPF, AF_XDP, DPDK, SmartNICs, DPUs, and IPUs for accelerated networking.
• Collaborate with network infrastructure and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable networking solutions.
• Lead operational excellence and successful project delivery across the organization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating high-performance networking systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and/or Rust.
• Deep expertise in Linux systems internals, including kernel architecture, memory management, and device drivers.
• Experience with network programming, packet-processing pipelines, TCP/IP, XDP/EBPF, AF_XDP, and DPDK.
• Knowledge of Mellanox/NVIDIA SmartNICs, DPU BlueField-3, Intel IPU, SR-IOV, vDPA, scalable functions, Open vSwitch, OpenFlow, and OVN.
• Experience with software engineering practices, testing, operations, stakeholder collaboration, and open-source contributions.

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical leadership experience and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, or KVM.
