Senior Manager, User Experience (AI)

Location: Fully remote within Bulgaria

What you will do

• Lead UX designers and researchers while setting standards for design quality, research rigor, prototyping, interaction design, and accessibility.
• Drive Jobs to be Done practice, including switch interviews, job stories, and research-informed backlog decisions.
• Define AI UX principles, interaction patterns, guardrails, and evaluation methods for communicating uncertainty, handling errors, requesting permission, and enabling recovery.
• Partner with Product and Engineering on handoff standards, technical documentation, feasibility trade-offs, design systems, and product direction.
• Build Design Operations and Research Operations, including tooling, templates, participant recruitment, and scalable processes.
• Hire, develop, and support the UX organization while maintaining career frameworks for individual contributors and people leaders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of substantial UX experience with depth in both user research and product design.
• At least 5 years of direct management experience leading and growing designers and/or researchers.
• Hands-on Jobs to be Done experience, including switch interviews and translating findings into job stories that influence product decisions.
• Experience designing or leading UX for AI- or ML-powered features, with a clear approach to trustworthy AI experiences.
• Strong knowledge of research methodology, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, UX metrics, Agile collaboration, and design-engineering handoffs.
• Experience with B2B or enterprise SaaS products, workshop facilitation, strategic customers, and mixed stakeholder environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Atlassian ecosystem or a comparable platform ecosystem.
• Experience scaling a design system or research repository.
• Experience creating or revising UX career frameworks and leveling criteria.
• Accessibility conformance program experience.
• Participatory and generative research methods, including design games, card sorts, journey mapping, and service mapping.
