Focus on transforming draft materials into accurate, accessible graphics, controlling sources and copyrights, and delivering organized production files on schedule.
Location: Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, or approved remote within the United States

What you will do
- Create and revise approximately 30–60 graphic objects per month for digital and print publications.
- Convert draft maps, charts, briefing slides, photographs, and author-provided materials into polished graphics.
- Build original maps, charts, graphics, and illustrations using Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Refine photographs for clarity, resolution, composition, and color, including preparation of final TIFF files.
- Prepare accurate maps and charts in Adobe Illustrator and apply current Army terminology and military symbology guidance.
- Verify spelling, legibility, visual comprehension, copyright status, source attribution, file formats, timelines, and archival project-file organization.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 1 suitability determination.
- Degree in graphic design, graphic development, or a directly related field.
- Five to ten years of experience developing graphic objects for digital and physical publications.
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud and a variety of digital image formats.
- Demonstrated ability to create, refine, and enhance maps, charts, graphics, illustrations, and photographs to publication standards.
- Strong attention to detail, visual accuracy, file organization, copyright compliance, and deadlines.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting military, historical, academic, or government publications.
- Knowledge of Army operational terms, military symbols, and cartographic conventions.
- Experience preparing production files for print and accessible digital publication.
- Experience supporting Army University Press or a comparable publishing organization.
